Okay so the milk cows are milked twice daily using sucking milking deals that are vacuum powered. The milk is run through metal or glass pipelines to a really big refrigerated holding tank where it is held until its ready to be shipped to a milk processing plant. The cold moo juice is then passed through a separator which in turn removes gross things like debris, bacteria, and the majority of the sediment that could of gotten in the fresh milk during milking and shipping. The separator also separates the thicker milk fat milk from the thinner fat milk to make skim milk, half & half and cream. The processing plant homogenize the milk, this process is to reduce the number of milk fat particles. This keeps all of the milk from separating. If milk separates then the cream rises and your milk isn't as creamy and good. It also makes sure that the cream will be spread out through the milk. When the milk is ready it is pumped through pipelines and into a machine that automatically packs it into jugs and cartons. The date is put on it and its sold to stores.http://milk.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=000658
