sheep ranchers have problems with preditors such as cougars. i myself have had problems with cougars and so have other local ranchers, since they out lawed hunting cougars with dogs their numbers have increased. so their have been more problems with them lately. this problem effects the amount of lambs a rancher will have because of the cougar killings they will also attack ewe or rams. wolfs are a huge preditor that kills alot of sheep. wolfs have expanded from over east at one time they were on the endanger species list, people shot and killed the wolfs out because they were killing machines, people have rentered them back and they are having the same affect. coyotes a smaller cousin of the wolf are just as big of pest local ranchers lose up to in the double digits of lambs hurting their overall pay check. coyotes are a smart animal and very hard to catch.
